– These simple additions will help homeowners save money of their energy bills, whilst helping to reduce the carbon footprint.

– REPLICATE participants are currently trying internet connected appliances, like smart tumble dryers, dishwashers and washing machines connected to a home hub. These have been delivered by Bristol City Council.

– 151 homes have had smart appliances installed in Partnership area.

– These appliances manage their own energy consumption, within preferences you set, and can save consumers money and reduce energy use.

– An “Eco Home” is being used as a demonstration space for Smart Home Innovations.

– Local energy champions were encouraged to work with partners to participate in the scheme, including training and project resources.

– A mobile testing vehicle (Mobile Future Home) was developed to engage people and deliver roadshow events across the target areas.

District Heating

Linking together the operational Heat Network connecting 13 social housing blocks with a new network

– The Purpose of District Heating Project is to provide a lower carbon and more efficient heat by linking together the operational Heat Network connecting 13 social housing blocks with a new network powered by a Combined Heat and Power Engine.

– By linking the two energy centres the whole system will better utilise the low carbon heat from providing more efficient and cheaper heat across the network.

– The Bristol pilot has connected the existing system of the Redcliffe Network to the Council’s offices in 100 Temple Street, where a new energy centre is being constructed to provide low cost heat to the buildings within the locality.

Installation of a 130kW PV to a Lawrence Hill bus depot and 30 Solar PV installations for home owners

– The installation of a 130kW PV to a Lawrence Hill bus depot has been completed.

– 30 Solar PV installations for home owners to reduce carbon emissions and lower energy bills – this is part of the above mentioned bulding retrofitting initiative.

– We expect the introduction of the Smart Export Guarantee to further help reduce energy bills for our customers.

– A high number of residents expressed interested in the REPLICATE project, showing that Bristol and its residents are concerned about our climate and environment.
