REPLICATE PROJECT PARTICIPATION TO EVENTS DURING 2020

Summary of the participation of Replicate to different events during the year 2020

The REPLICATE Project, co-financed within the H2020 program contract number 691735 (European call SCC1 Smart Cities and Communities) and coordinated by Fomento de San Sebastian, has carried out and participated in various communication activities.

The beginning of 2020 seemed like a normal year: the 3 new sister projects Atelier, Pocityf and Sparcs were welcomed, the REPLICATE project webpage was updated including the latest info about the lighthouse cities and other cross-cutting activities. REPLICATE launched its seventh newsletter. In March, the COVID-19 alarm came, and a few weeks later REPLICATE joined some initiatives launched in the lighthouse projects collaboration framework:

#CityFromMyWindow initiative

The #CityFromMyWindow initiative consisted of sharing photos taken from our own windows on Twitter using the hashtag. In that way, the objective of the campaign was to be able to feel closer and explore new corners despite the lockdown problem.

#SmartCitiesHelp initiative

DistantButClose_Initiative

An initiative to disseminate, through social networks, the initiatives carried out in cities to contribute to the well-being of citizens during COVID-19. Of course, REPLICATE shared some of the initiatives of its Lighthouse Cities and Followers, so that among all the activities they could serve as inspiration.

‘The Smart City response to COVID-19’ webinar

An event in which the MatchUp, Sharing City and REPLICATE projects participated. These projects shared different experiences about the response of the lighthouse cities to the Covid-19 and how the lighthouse projects has contributed to this response.

Later, in July, REPLICATE published its seventh newsletter. Of course, most of the events, such as trade shows, conferences, etc. were affected by the problem of the Coronavirus. That is why many organizers were forced to carry out these events online. It is worth to highlight that most of the activities have continued during the year although the format has been adapted.

Also in July, REPLICATE attended the final conference of its sister project Remourban, a project that, together with Growsmarter and Triangulum, came to an end during 2020 after 5 years of activity.

#WeMoveSmart – European Mobility Week

European_Mobility_Week

From the 16th to the 22nd of September, 17 smart cities projects launched a virtual flash mob #WeMoveSmart to raise the issue of sustainable mobility in cities. The European Mobility week, whose theme this year was “Zero-emission mobility for all”, was the perfect occasion to raise awareness on the topic. That’s why the smart cities launched an appeal: “Show us your green way to move around, to aim the people to take pictures, videos and share short stories on urban green routes and share them on social media during the EU Mobility Week along with the hashtag #WeMoveSmart”. Replicate project posted about some of the mobility actions deployed in the cities in the project framework.
