REPLICATE project has come to the end. After 5 years of collaboration and hard work we would like to share the achievements of Replicate thanks to the efforts from all the partners. This is why on March 26, 2021, REPLICATE project, coordinated by Fomento San Sebastián, will organise the final conference, in online format.

The financing of almost 30 million euros has made possible the implementation of actions in energy efficiency, sustainable mobility and ICT & infrastructures in the cities of San Sebastián, Florence and Bristol. The consortium has been made up of 38 partners: cities, companies, universities and technology corporations. Actions have been implemented in the three lighthouse cities, Donostia / San Sebastian (Spain), Florence (Italy) and Bristol (United Kingdom), and three other fellow cities have also been involved: Essen (Germany), Lausanne (Switzerland) and Nilüfer (Turkey).

The objective of the conference is to share and disseminate the results of the project, as well as the impacts generated. The event will share experiences, knowledge and challenges and will bring together several agents from the Smart ecosystem that will focus in the Smart City model. First part of the conference will be focused on the public authorities welcome and European Commission insights presentation about Smart Cities.

A European smart city expert will share challenges and opportunities of the smart cities. There are 3 blocks oriented to showcase the results in the REPLICATE lighthouse cities and other cross cutting activities as well as the presentation of replication activities in the fellow cities. Other lighthouse projects will participate in a session to exchange experiences and discuss about the best practices.

The target audience of this final project event are European cities, private companies, universities, technology and research centers.

Under normal circumstances, the event would have been held physically, inviting different agents to the city, organising study visits to learn, more directly, about the results. Given the situation of Covid-19, it will be an online event that will be held throughout the morning of March 26.

REPLICATE project was aimed at developing and validating a sustainable city business model in the pilot cities of San Sebastian, Florence (Italy) and Bristol (United Kingdom) to improve the transition process towards a smart city in the areas of energy efficiency, sustainable mobility and ICTs/Infrastructures, by accelerating the deployment of innovative technologies, improving the quality of life of citizens, and influencing the replication process. The project also aimed to increase the quality of life of citizens across Europe by demonstrating the impact of innovative technologies used to co-create smart city services for citizens and to test the optimal process for replicating successes in cities and across cities.

The REPLICATE project coordinated by Fomento de San Sebastian, is funded by the Horizon 2020 program of the European Commission contract number 691.735 in the SCC1 Smart Cities and Communities call.
